Dubai International Airport is home to Dubai’s government carrier airlines, Emirates and Flydubai. It is regarded as the largest hub in the Middle East. The airport covers an area of 3,100 acres with three terminals that serve passenger airline- Terminal 1, 2, and 3.

Terminal 2 is separated from the other two buildings. The airport’s Terminal 3, which has Concourse A, B, and C, is the largest terminal in the world and the second-largest by floor space in the world.

At the moment, passenger traffic at the Dubai International Airport averages around 90M annually. As such, it is no surprise to feel overwhelmed when using DBX. However, there are many lounges located in both Terminals 1 and 3 where you can pass the time while you await your flight.

Most of these lounges have flight monitors where you can keep track of boarding calls. Others offer shower facilities and private rooms, which go a long way to help anyone with layovers freshen up and sleep.

Directions

After security check-in at level 2’s transit area, head to Terminal 1. The lounge is located there; At the Concourse D (inside security).

The lounge is only accessible to passengers using Terminal 1, Concourse D. any passengers using Emirates are not allowed to book access to this lounge. Instead, they should use lounges in Terminal 3 of the airport.

Children under the age of 1 are admitted for free and should be accompanied by an adult. There is also a cancellation policy- 24 hours before the time you have reserved for you to get a full refund.

The lounge also allows passengers to make reservations. However, one is allowed to access the lounge an hour before or after their reservation time. A booking starts upon entry.

Directions

When you arrive at Concourse D, take the stairs of the elevator on the left side to the Arrivals level, then turn left and take the next right turn.

The lounge is only accessible to passengers departing from Terminal 1, Concourse D.

At an additional fee, one can access the showers and other private rooms. There is also a theater room available inside the lounge. This lounge accepts walk-in customers, but access will depend on the capacity of the lounge at any particular moment. The entry fee is AED 175 per person and is paid at the front desk.   

The lounge also allows complimentary use of tablets. Children under 2 years can access the lounge free of charge. However, an adult must accompany them.

You can make a reservation to this lounge. However, to get a full refund, you have to cancel your reservation 24-hours before your reservation time. One is allowed to access the lounge an hour before or after their reservation time. A booking starts upon entry.

The hotel lounge is only accessible to departing and transit passengers using Terminal 3. If you are a transit passenger, you should not exit Immigration and Customs since you will be denied access to the hotel until 3-hours before your departing flight.

The hotel’s double/single rooms can each accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child below 12 years. A triple room can accommodate a maximum of 3 adults at a go, each. An extra bed costs AED 110. However, only 1 extra bed I allowed in every room. The hotel provides baby cots, depending on availability, at a charge.

 

  • Lounge @ B

Location

Terminal 3 (inside security), Concourse B

Directions

Take the escalator on the second floor and proceed to Gate B26. The lounge’s entrance is inside the Cadiz Tapas Bar.

This lounge is only accessible to passengers departing from Terminal 3 using Emirates. If you are using Concourse A or C in Terminal 3, you must allow yourself at least 20-40 minutes to reach your departure gate.

An adult must accompany children. Also, children under 2 years are admitted for free. The lounge has offsite shower facilities available at the Dubai International Hotel upon request. The hotel is at least 10-minutes away from the lounge. The lounge also has complimentary massage chairs.

Drinks like liquor and spirits are available at a fee, although select liquors and drinks are available as complimentary. In the month of Ramadan, alcoholic beverages are only available from 20:00-03:00 upon request.

The lounge also allows passengers to make reservations. However, one is allowed to access the lounge an hour before or after their reservation time. A booking starts upon entry.

 

  •  Ahlan Business Class Lounge

Terminal 1 (inside security), Concourse D

Directions

Head to the Arrivals Area in Level 2. You will see the lounge in Terminal 1.

Flydubai owns Flydubai Business Class Lounge. The lounge has two levels.

The lounge does not allow reservations at the moment. It is available to the airlines premium passengers or passengers with specific credential like elite status, or other requirements.
